. i was a 23-year coal miner for many years. barack obama is wanting to do away with coal. i want to see mitt romney come back to my area and talk about call. we have a lot of people down here suffering because barack obama has shut down the coal business. i am a christian voters. i like to take the bible and lay it down and look at it and see which president i would like to vote for. i cannot find anything in the bible that i can vote for for barack obama. he does not have anything i can vote for him more. you turn over to romans chapter 1 and it talks about homosexuality and is an abomination of god. the two exodus' chapter 20 it talks about not killing babies. he is proud of it. there is no way a christian voters can vote for barack obama. host: some of the issues you just discussed were not discussed last night, or they? caller: they have been discussed in the past. i know mitt romney says he is against the homosexuality and will not vote for gay marriage. that is another thing he is against -- do not go in debt. when you become a debtor, you are a slave to whoever you borrowe

, at least i know within four years we will still have a president. with obama, i am not so certain. i don't feel that we are united as we the people anymore. with romney, we have that option. that is all i have to say. >> had already made up your mind who you were going to vote for? >> no, i am completely open- minded still. just by looking and seeing how things are going, i am leaning a little bit more toward romney at the moment. >> this is sophia from twitter. -- so fantastic to see governor romney and president obama being so social and courteous. all of our social media component and other components about the debates have been put together in our debate hub. first and foremost, you can see the responses to questions, the specific questions that were asked tonight by the moderator. you can click the question and see the video responses and you can also use the site to make clips of sections of the debate and send those clips be a social media or whatever to other people to share. that is all at our debate hub at c-span.org. let's go to nicole in richmond, virginia. she is calling on

obama just made -- i think he has had is time for the four years, and it seems like we are worse off than we have ever been. he has had his time to prove to us that he could do it, but he has not prove anything to us. the people on social security today are starving to death and he has not help us one bit. as far as the war in iraq, he says he has ended that. if he finds our man over there is still getting killed, why does and he just bring our man at home and get them out of theire? sir, i thank you for your time, and god bless you. >> on our debate hub at c- span.org, we have broken a speech down into various clips. as the rally started this afternoon in denver, president obama responded to some of the comments of mitt romney. here is how it looked this afternoon. [video clip] >> we also had our first debate last night. when i got onto the stage, i met this very spirited fellow who claimed to be mitt romney. [laughter] but it couldn't have been mitt romney, because the real mitt romney has been running around the country for the last year promising $5 trillion in tax cuts to favor

i would like to make, is 20 years ago, i became the luckyest man on earth because michelle obama married me. i just want you to know, next year we will not be celebrating it in front of 40 million people. four years ago we went through the worst financial crisis since the great depression. many jobs were lost. the auto industry was on the brink of collapse. because of the resilience and determination of the american people, we have begun to fight our way back. over the last 30 months, we have seen five million jobs in the private sector created. the auto industry has come roaring back. housing has begun to rise. the question tonight is not where we have been, but where we are going. governor romney has a perspective that says, if we cut taxes, skew toward the wealthy, and roll back regulations we will be better off. i have a different view. i think we have to invest in education and training. i think it is important for us to develop new sources of energy here in america, that we change our tax code to make sure we are helping small businesses and companies here in the united sta

to the other guy. the democrats were in control for four years, two under bush and two under obama, yet it was all bush's fault and nobody takes responsibility. that's the problem. the voters need to take responsibility and get rid of every one of the incumbents, it's maybe not in this election, but if they don't get this country straightened out and get the economy straightened out, but just take one election in two years, if it's not better, get rid of every one of them and they will finally get the message. host: let's look at some national news stories. this story from the new york times -- and this other story in the times -- looking at other international news stories on long lines of what our last caller was talking about, whether international news is getting attention. and this in the washington post -- the debate tomorrow night will focus on domestic issues. what would you be listening for? if you're not going to watch, why? monty writes -- in new orleans on the republican line, eustice. caller: good morning. i don't know how anything can change. romney would have to come up w

. host: thank you. guest: there is no question -- president obama had a jobs bill last year. as it at scale wit hh the problems we faced? no. but it was a jobs bill. the republicans had no use for it. it was put aside because they did not want to have the present have a success. they were not interested in creating jobs. do they have a jobs plan? there is no record that cutting tax creates jobs. the republicans have been a obstructionists, but i do think the democrats need to be bolder and put forward many more ideas about how to create jobs. in my mind the democratic party is a coalition of interest. the republican party i think will possibly expire because it has become so extremist. it risks extinction in a country going through such demographic shifts. it is primarily a white, older party to that. -- today. it doesn't understand how they will operate. they will throw as much money and do the vote suppression which about 11 courts have said we're not going to buy into the idea of bogus voter fraud to impair the greatest rights america has. which is to vote. host: we have

the other months of the year? guest: it absolutely does because we are on a political threshold that president obama has been struggling to get over to the other side. when the headlines and every newspaper reads that we are no longer above 8% unemployment, the political implications are greater than what this means in terms of the economy. host: what are the industries that saw the biggest boost from this? guest: hospitality and warehousing added jobs. we did not see any huge jump up or down and other industries. host: when economists look at the numbers, are we seeing a trend or do we not know yet ? guest: economists generally say this has been a positive trend. the one reason september numbers have been used by economists is that usually when the work force, the size of the work force, increases, that justifies that people are out looking for work and it means that people may be have not given up. that has been the case in the previous month but in september, we saw about the labor market grew a lot of people entered the job market and thought they could find a job now, maybe
